Poolside Ice Pops and Fruit Guests have been liking the refreshing ice pops in tropical flavors and fruit kebabs poolside at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. But Michel Mustiere, Culinary Director, decided to raise the bar for poolside service with new guacamole and ceviche carts that make these favorite dishes to order. Guests need not leave their pool chair or cabana to enjoy six types of fish and seafood and a selection of tomato, onion, cilantro, and various condiments and even seasonal fruits. Guacamole lovers can opt for the traditional preparation or choose from a menu of 10 different types. A sampling of the options include Caprese, made with avocado, dehydrated tomato, mozzarella cheese, basil, parmesan cheese, pesto; Caribbean, made with avocado, pineapple, shredded coconut, strawberries, kiwi, mint, honey; and Poblano, made with avocado, Poblano pepper, white onion, corn.
Both carts roam the resort's three infinity pools once a week. And it's all you can eat and free, as it's included in the resort's nightly rate.
